Hayato hero Concepts.

Here's a character concepts and some sketches I did to develop this hero for a game I was working on.
I'm no longer working for the game since things got out of hand. However, it was fun to work there. Wh knows if the game will be finished someday.

I'm not very comfortable with drawing characters but this was okay I guess.
Anyway, here's Hayato, the main character for this game. he's sort of like a ninja..

It was fun to make him. Although he could use some improvements.

Happy New Year!

I had a goal to do lots of paintings before new years (duing my holidays) but I never did. However, it doesn't mean I haven't been busy. Right now I'm working with two teams with other artists and programmers creating two separate games.

  • Quest of Eve
  • Kevin's Game (The game has no name yet)

Basically I'm the environment artists for both but also creating additional characters for Kevin's game. I'm doing the work both in Photoshop and Flash.

None of the above games are fully announced so the info here is limited, yet I only started working for these at the beginning of last month and it's going very well. Both games are at the beginning stage of development although a lot of work is getting done very quickly. They will be released as Flash games.

I'll keep ya'll posted.

Happy new year 2009! Hope all your wishes come true.

Projects.

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to focus on my own personal work due to a few projects I'm working on. I'm not at all sad as these projects are helping me a lot to get more experience and enjoy working with other people. These projects are:

  • Quest of Eve
  • Project Viewpoint (canceled)
  • Ovaltech Logos.
Quest of Eve is a very interesting project. It will be a game created with Flash with perhaps some minor things in Photoshop. The game is very fun and although its still at the beginning of production, it looks like it will be very successful. You can also view additional information here. You'll be able to see my work in teh Background Art section in teh forum.

Project Viewpoint is also an interesting project yet slightly more complex. Again it is a game but instead of its platform being Flash, it is a 3D rendered game using the DarkPlaces engine. I'm also working as an environment concept artist for them. [Now Canceled]

Ovaltech is my uncle's software company and I was asked to create a set of logos and icons for his software apps.

So that's what's taking up most of my time now since I'm in holidays finally! :]
I'm also thinking of doing a short animation with chistmas as a theme so heads up!

Structura Contest - Submision.

I've submitted my image for the Structura contest (more info on the previous post)

I'm really happy with everything and how it went. It could be improved yet I cant see anything at the moment.

Anyway here it is.

Structura Contest - Work in progress.

CGPA.org is holding a contest where the winner win a copy of the "Structura, the art of Sparth" by the famous Sparth (Nicolas Bouvier).

The images have to be submitted by November 1st and will be judged by Nicolas and the winner gets a copy of Structura. (the image should have resemblance of his work but also with our very own style in it as well)

So I've started to paint something. I began with the background an basically a very basic and calm composition. Then I began to add elements in teh foreground and middleground and tiny one sin the background.
Still working on it. I'll be finishing it by the end of this week.

Low.

Wanted to work small on this one.

Although now i know it gets extremely tiring to work small because of the very small pen movements but this was ok.

Looking for ideas, exploring methods and other things. Painted under one hour.

Towers.

So I've received my Wacom Bamboo tablet and now I can start painting once more!

Took some time to paint tonight after unpacking the tablet.
Getting my own method and technique into place but needs improvements. OK result i guess after not having painted for almost a month.

Feels good to be back

(needs to work on sharpness)

Intro to Art Sketchbook Cover.

Got bored of seeing this year's sketchbook/workbook for art class (intro to art). SO i decided to make a stencil, did the mona lisa to symbolize art. Then used white spray paint to finish it off.

Now its interesting!

Tablet Trouble.

So my tablet decided to die today. This means I wont be able to paint any time soon until I find a replacement. The tablet I had was Trust Slimline Design TB-6300 but I'm thinking of getting a Wacom Bamboo Fun Medium. As soon as I buy and receive the tablet, I can start to paint again.

Normally I paint in Photoshop but I'm beginning to read and understand Painter so either I'll work with both simultaneously or use one or the other.

Previous Artwork.

Opening Day.

Welcome to my blog.

You'll find my illustrations together with sketches I make throughout time.

This blog was created to update my work more often and faster since editing my main site: www.lfocstudios.net can be quite difficult and tedious to do.

Thanks for visiting. Enjoy
